Overview
IJDIR is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scientific record. When errors are identified in published articles — whether discovered by authors, editors, readers, or through post-publication review — the journal will take prompt and transparent action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Corrections / Errata
A correction notice (erratum) will be issued when a published article contains errors that:
- Do not affect the overall conclusions of the research
- Are genuine mistakes (e.g., typographical errors, mislabelled figures, incorrect author affiliation)
- Were introduced during the production process and were not present in the original manuscript
Correction notices are published as a separate, linked item in the current issue, cross-referenced with the original article. The original article remains in its published form with a note linking to the correction.
To request a correction, corresponding authors should email [email protected] with the article DOI, a clear description of the error, and the proposed correction.
Expression of Concern
IJDIR may publish an Expression of Concern when:
- An investigation into possible misconduct is ongoing and a decision has not yet been reached
- There is evidence of unreliable data or findings but the circumstances are not fully clear
- Institutions or regulatory bodies are investigating the research
An Expression of Concern is a temporary notice that does not constitute a final editorial judgment. It will be updated or withdrawn once a definitive conclusion is reached.
Retractions
A retraction is a formal withdrawal of a published article from the scientific record. IJDIR will issue a retraction when:
- Data fabrication, falsification, or fraud is confirmed
- Significant plagiarism is identified post-publication
- The results are unreliable due to honest error and the authors cannot provide corrected data
- Duplicate or redundant publication is confirmed
- Unethical research is identified (e.g., absence of ethical approval)
⚠️ Retraction Procedure
Retracted articles remain on the IJDIR website clearly marked as "RETRACTED" with the date and reason for retraction visible on all versions. The original article text is preserved for the historical record, in accordance with COPE guidelines. The DOI continues to resolve to the retracted article.
Retraction notices state the reason for retraction and are signed by the Editor-in-Chief. They are published in the current issue and cross-linked to the retracted article.
Article Withdrawal
In exceptional circumstances, IJDIR may withdraw an article that has been published online but not yet assigned to a specific issue (e.g., articles in press). Withdrawal is reserved for cases where:
- The article clearly violates legal or ethical standards
- The article poses a serious health risk if acted upon
- There are serious allegations of legal infringement (e.g., defamation, copyright violation)
Process for Raising Concerns
Readers, reviewers, or authors who identify errors or have concerns about a published article should contact the editorial office at [email protected] with:
- The article title and DOI
- A clear description of the concern
- Any supporting evidence
IJDIR aims to acknowledge all such queries within 5 working days and to complete investigations within 60 days of receipt.
