Abstract
Aesthetic outcomes have become a critical determinant of success in implant dentistry, particularly in the anterior maxilla and other visible regions. Modern implant therapy demands not only functional rehabilitation but also a natural and harmonious appearance. Achieving predictable aesthetic results requires comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, meticulous treatment planning, and integration of surgical and prosthetic principles. Key factors influencing peri-implant aesthetics include lip line, gingival biotype, alveolar bone volume, and the position of the gingival margin and papillae. Careful three-dimensional implant positioning, preservation or augmentation of hard and soft tissues, and use of customized abutments and provisional restorations are essential for creating a natural emergence profile and stable gingival architecture. Various aesthetic indices, such as the Pink Aesthetic Score and White Aesthetic Score, provide standardized methods for evaluating treatment outcomes. Advances including digital smile design, immediate provisionalization, and biomaterial innovations further enhance predictability. A patient-centred, interdisciplinary, and evidence-based approach is indispensable for achieving long-lasting aesthetic success in implant dentistry.
